Washington Village will represent the region as one of 70 finalists in Britain in Bloom next summer (2022), delayed from 2020 due to the pandemic. Due to restrictions, the judging will be carried out via submitted evidence based on the ongoing work in the village.

After picking up the Best Village award in 2020 and again in this year's 2021 Northumbria in Bloom competition, as well as 'Overall Winner', our village will now go head to head with several others across the UK.

​

It follows a busy few years for the Washington Village in Bloom group, which has worked tirelessly to create stunning flowerbeds and gardens with the help from kind-hearted local businesses and residents.

​

I'm sure you'll agree that this is a huge honour and a huge challenge, and we would welcome any help from individuals and businesses to help us step up to the plate. We have achieved incredible success already, but this is a game changer!

The organisation now has until next Spring/Summer to get the village ready!.

​

Remember, Washington Village in Bloom Group volunteers work every Sunday from 10am-noon to keep the village looking beautiful, and new volunteers are always welcome!
